Jakarta – Investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya specified the suspect status of Dedy Chandra, the owner of the TikTok account @ompolosbanget. Investigators also immediately detained the Tiktokers.
The suspect through the social media platform @ompolosbanget is known to often make a lot of negative video content containing provocation, hostility, pitting one against the other, slander, insult or defamation, and fake news related to the Tokyo Riverside Apartment project which was built by PT Mandiri Bangun Makmur as the developer.
Director of Special Criminal Investigation for Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the perpetrator had tried to dodge or run away from responsibility by removing or deleting all negative content videos on the Tiktok account.
“However, it turns out that the digital footprint of the video containing the negative content he made was successfully secured and has become evidence at the police,” said Kombes Pol Ade Safri, Friday, (25/8).
The police, he added, appealed to anyone not to create negatively charged content that accuses either a person or a legal entity of causing a violation of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).

The suspect was charged with Article 27 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) and/or Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45A paragraph (2) of Law 19/2016 concerning Amendments to Law 11/2008 concerning ITE and/or Article 310 of the Criminal Code and Article 311 and/or Article 14 and Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
“The threat is four years in prison,” he said.
Previously, the director of PT Mandiri Bangun Makmur reported the suspect Dedy Chandra for allegedly committing the criminal act of defamation and/or uttering hate speech between groups and/or spreading fake news or hoaxes which caused uproar.
