Jakarta – The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya held an event “Friday Confidence Together” in Kalibata Village, South Jakarta, Friday, (26/5). This interactive discussion activity with residents discussed cyber crime, illegal racing and drugs.
Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Direskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Auliansyah Lubis said in the discussion that currently there are many websites in Indonesia that are indicated to provide false information. The latest example is the counterfeit purchase of concert tickets for the British band Coldplay.
“Models like this happen a lot now. That’s why we have to be vigilant. Regarding counterfeit purchases of Coldplay concert tickets, for example, yesterday we arrested two people, a married couple,” said Auliansyah Lubis.
Furthermore, he also appealed to the Kalibata Village community to be wiser in using social media. Apart from having to be observant in ascertaining the truth of news on social media, said Auliansyah, the public must also be able to be more alert to the mode of deception on social media which is growing.
“Currently there is also a new mode of data theft circulating. What people need to know is the mode of data theft in format (Apk) sent via WhatsApp/WA messages. If the potential victim clicks and installs, the data will be stolen and banking confidential information will be known to the perpetrators of theft,” explained the three jasmine officers who graduated from the 1994 Tunggal Panaluan Battalion of the Police Academy.
“Therefore, through this activity I hope there will be a lot of useful information that can be known by the public. What is a complaint can also be conveyed properly and can make Polri services, especially the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya, better and more optimal,” he continued.
