Jakarta – The Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Latif Usman said that the application of manual fines aims to educate the public. There is no interest other than education.
“That the purpose of manual fines that we have reinstated, once again I remind you, is not for us to do a lot of fines. But to educate the public,” he said quoted from Antaranews, Saturday (10/6).
The officer who graduated from Battalion Patria Tama Akpol 1995 explained, with manual ticketing by officers in the field, people should be more careful and obey the rules on the roads.
“That now all roads have officers. What is certain is that if you see a violation, action will be taken,” said the former East Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate.
He also explained that enforcement does not always have to connote a ticket, but there are stages. According to him, all police activities that remind violators also include an action.
“This needs to be understood. So that people don’t be afraid of the police. In fact, the police will help their colleagues. So we are taking this action not to make it difficult for road users, but to remind them to maintain their safety,” said Latif.
Furthermore, he also revealed, even though manual ticketing was re-implemented, his party would continue to develop an electronic ticketing system or static and mobile ETLE in Jakarta.
“This (manual) ticket is just to compensate. But what we will continue to develop is the mobile ETLE and the static ETLE in Jakarta,” concluded the officer with the zodiac sign Leo who was born on August 10, 1973. Bembo
