Jakarta – The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya will close a number of roads around the State Palace during the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Thursday, (17/8).
“The traffic diversion around the State Palace is in the context of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony,” said the Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Latif Usman to the media crew yesterday.
Kombes Pol Latif explained that a number of roads will be closed, namely the Harmoni Intersection leading to the palace, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, and Jalan Veteran Raya.
Meanwhile the traffic flow on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat from the Horse Statue to the palace remains open.
“Jalan Merdeka Barat is not closed, it is for the flag relay,” he said.
The following is a list of the traffic flow diversion routes:
1. Traffic from the direction of Tugu Tani (South Medan Merdeka Street) to Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara is diverted to Jalan Perwira.
2. Traffic from the direction of Jalan Hayam Wuruk towards Jalan Majapahit/Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara was diverted to Jalan Juanda or Jalan Suryopranoto.
3. The flow of traffic going to Jalan Veterans I, Jalan Veterans II, and Jalan Veterans III is closed.
4. Traffic flows from the direction of the US Embassy towards the Horse Statue Roundabout. Bembo
