Jakarta – The Directorate of Drug Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) BareskrimPolri has named the 47 kg methamphetamine dealer Fauzan Afriansyah alias Vincent (FA alias V) as a suspect in the money laundering crime case (TPPU). The police have also confiscated a total of Rp89 billion in assets belonging to the suspect, which is suspected of being the proceeds of TPPU.
“Disclosure of the crime of money laundering or TPPU which is related to the predicate crime of narcotics with evidence of crystal methamphetamine as much as 47 kg,” said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Pol Ahmad Ramadhan at a press conference at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Thursday, (24 /8).
Meanwhile, the National Police’s Directorate of Narcotics, Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Mukti Juharsa, explained that Fauzan took action in Bengkalis Regency, Riau. Fauzan was convicted in a drug case and sentenced to 12 years in prison. The sentence was lower than the prosecutor’s demand, namely the death sentence. Prosecutors have also filed an appeal.
“The original crime (drug trafficking) has been sentenced at the Bengkalis District Court. We are only continuing the TPPU which happened in April 2023,” he said.
Brigadier General Mukti also explained that his party had confiscated Rp5.9 billion in cash and 10 luxury vehicles. Apart from that, he continued, investigators also confiscated 34 plots of land from the proceeds of TPPU.
The luxury vehicles include four Harley-Davidson motorbikes, one Jaguar sedan, one Toyota Fortuner, and one Mercedes-Benz car.
“The total is Rp89,062,860,000. Those are the assets that we have secured from the perpetrator on behalf of FA alias V,” said Brigadier General Pol Mukti.
