Jakarta – Ahead of the 2024 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) celebrations, the Polres Metro Jakarta Utara has alerted hundreds of personnel and prepared security strategies to facilitate community activities.
“We are facing 2 big events, namely Christmas and New Year. Maximum security must be carried out to make people feel safe and comfortable carrying out activities at these two events,” explained Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara, Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan after checking security posts in the Jakarta Utara area, Friday night, (22/12)
For Christmas security, said Kapolres Gidion, his party will focus on places of worship or places used for Christmas celebrations.
” There are around 170 church locations or Christmas celebration locations in the North Jakarta area. We will ensure security for all of them, especially focusing on the 24th and 25th,” he said again.
For churches or places of worship, continued Kapolres Gidion, his party will also implement sterilization security standards carried out by Brimob Polda Metro Jaya personnel.
“In the church, the standard for everything is sterility. Later on December 24 morning, we will deploy troops or personnel who have sterilization capacity from Gegana Brimob to ensure that places of worship are safe from high and low escalations,” he explained.
Apart from sterilization by Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Jakarta Utara itself will deploy 275 personnel a day for security. There is also support from the stationary Polda Metro Jaya and three pillar patrols.
Then, to welcome the new year, the Polres Metro Jakarta Utara have also set up security posts and integrated services in locations that are places of crowds or community celebrations.
“There are several locations that have become iconic tourist attractions for the community, such as Ancol and PIK. For Ancol, we have established an integrated security post. In its operations, Pam Post collaborates with Ancol. Also with related stakeholders such as the Transportation Department, Health Service, Fire Department, PMI and other units,” Kombes Pol Gidion said.
“Because this is humanitarian work, the first orientation is safety. The safety of visitors, road users and the public is the main thing,” he added. Bembo
