Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto during a roll call for joint troop shifts ahead of voting in the 2024 Election at Monas, Jakarta Pusat, Tuesday, (13/2).

Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto asked personnel tasked with securing polling stations to maintain neutrality and suppress turmoil during the elections. He also asked personnel not to do things that could bring the institution into disrepute.

“Always coordinate with officers at the TPS, don’t do counterproductive things that could corner the Polri or TNI institutions. My message is to maintain our neutrality,” said Kapolda Karyoto at Monas, Jakarta Pusat, Tuesday, (13/2).

Furthermore, Kapolda Karyoto also advised the personnel not to side with any candidate pair. He also asked his members not to stay near the house or the candidate winning post to avoid unwanted incidents.

“Avoid actions that can discredit us, siding with one of the candidate pairs or political parties. Also avoid places where you are part of the winning team of one of the candidate pairs. Pay attention to places where members will stay overnight, or just sit and drink coffee. And don’t speaking that directs support or reduces the electability of one of the candidate pairs or political parties,” Kapolda Karyoto said.

He also emphasized that personnel must take their duties seriously in overseeing the voting process on February 14 tomorrow. He hopes that the voting process can run safely and smoothly.

“What needs to be paid attention to is how each personnel understands the duties and responsibilities they carry out, as well as how to understand the procedures at the polling station and the existing letters and ballot boxes,” said Kapolda Karyoto.

“I hope that all personnel are ready to carry out their duties in accordance with the existing plotting. There will be no more personnel who are not ready, both in terms of physical health, mental health, logistics, official equipment and personal needs,” he added.

He also said, that based on the mapping results there were three categories of TPS, namely, less vulnerable, vulnerable and very vulnerable. In the Polda Metro Jaya area itself, there are 65,495 polling stations.

Of this number, 64,333 TPS were classified as less vulnerable. Then 976 TPS were classified as vulnerable and the remaining 21 TPS were classified as very vulnerable. Bembo
