Jakarta – The pattern of securing citizen activities by the Samapta Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya in car free day (CFD) and car free night (CFN) activities has become a model for all Polda in Indonesia. The security pattern with a humanist approach, with bicycle patrols and horse patrols, is undeniably able to make residents feel safe, comfortable and entertained.
“Alhamdulillah, the humanist security pattern that we have implemented at the car free day and car free night events has so far succeeded in making us a model for all Polda in Indonesia,” said the Director of Samapta Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ahmad Zainudin to topikonline.co.id at his office, some time ago.
“We actually only thought about providing the best service to the community. We didn’t expect that what we were doing would become a reference and example for all Polda in Indonesia,” continued this officer, three graduates of the 1992 Pratisara Wirya Police Academy Battalion.
He explained that the presence of police among residents who enjoy CFD and CFN on Jalan Sudirman and MH Thamrin is aimed at anticipating and minimizing street crime, aka robbery.
The security system is carried out by going around, starting from the Youth Building Statue (Torch Statue) in Senayan, then to FX Sudirman, to the location of the Arjuna Wijaya Statue, and back to the HI Roundabout.
“Some personnel also do this on foot among CFD or CFN residents. The safety and comfort of residents is our main priority,” Kombes Pol Ahmad Zainudin said.
“And thankfully the residents are also very entertained by our presence. Many children even whine to their parents asking to be photographed and ride horses when they see police patrols on horseback. Yes, we will definitely allow this with full supervision from personnel,” he continued with a happy face. Bembo
