Jakarta – Police reports (LP) regarding the case of academic and political observer Rocky Gerung continue to grow. If previously there were 13 reports against Rocky received by Bareskrim Polri from the regional police, now the number has reached 25 LP.
The Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Pol Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro told topikonline.co.id that of the 25 confirmed prisons, the majority came from East Kalimantan, namely 11 prisons. Then from Polda Metro Jaya it also increased by one to 4 LP. Then from North Sumatra and Central Kalimantan each 3 LP, and finally from Bareskrim and Yogyakarta each 2 LP.
“Police reports on the Rocky Gerung case continue to grow.
Until now there are 25 prisons in the Bareskrim and Polda ranks,” said Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro.
“All the prisons were withdrawn to the National Police Headquarters because the object of the case and the reported parties were all the same. And (in the process) 15 prisons have been received by Pidum,” he added.
As is known, the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has indeed taken over all cases against academic and political observer Rocky Gerung. Now Bareskrim is conducting an investigation of all these prisons.
Furthermore, Dirtipidum Brigadier General Pol Djuhandhani again said that his party would also investigate reports regarding the alleged spread of fake news that was allegedly carried out by Rocky.
Because, he continued, this report against Rocky was the result of his statement which was considered by some to contain elements of hatred based on SARA and insult President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Related to spreading fake news then where is meant in Articles 14, 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946,” Brigadier General Pol Djuhandhani said.
“The regulation strictly regulates the matter of false reporting which then creates a commotion,” he continued.
Previously, Rocky Gerung’s statement, which was considered insulting to Jokowi, was also broadcast on Refly Harun’s YouTube account. The clip of the video has also been widely shared on social media.
The statement allegedly insulting President Jokowi was conveyed by Rocky through his oration during the Grand Consolidation event for the Million Workers Action Alliance with the All Indonesian Workers Union (SPSI) in Bekasi on Saturday (29/7).
Rocky alluded to President Jokowi’s move, which according to him went to China to offer the Archipelago Capital (IKN).
