If PT Djarum Builds Empty Land in Boncos Village, Drug Circulation Cases Can Be Resolved

Kapolsek Palmerah Kompol Dodi Abdul Rohim escorts suspected drug users to Boncos Village, Palmerah, West Jakarta, Tuesday, (8/8).

Jakarta – It is certain that PT Djarum will carry out its development project on an empty land in Kampung Boncos, Palmerah, West Jakarta. If the development project goes ahead, the problem of drug trafficking cases is likely to be resolved.

The Palmerah Police Chief, Kompol Dodi Abdul Rohim said, currently the PT Djarum development project plan on this land is still having technical problems. But he did not know exactly the technical problems referred to.

“It’s just that there might be institutional constraints. We don’t know the technical aspects of them (PT Djarum). In Syaa Allah, if construction starts, drug cases will decrease. Because so far, vacant land has been used by them (drug users),” he said .

He also said that PT Djarum had indeed planned to build a tower building and an international badminton court on the vacant land of Kampung Boncos. It’s just that the realization of the plan is still unknown.

“The talk is that PT Djarum will build a tower with an international badminton court. But now we don’t know, we haven’t communicated,” he said.

He also explained that during the raid on Boncos Village on Tuesday, (8/8) yesterday, his party only found two stalls on vacant land used by drug users. The two shanties had been burnt down by his side.

“When we came here, there was already less (the number of drug-using stalls). Earlier we only burned two (lapaks), usually five to seven stalls that we secure,” Kompol Dodi said.

He further said that currently drug use activities in Boncos Village have begun to shift towards Tomang Asli Market and several other locations. This is the result of the high intensity of drug raids in Boncos Village.

“From the information I have heard, there have been a lot of shifts here to Tomang Asli Market and other locations and we are also exploring them,” he said again.

In yesterday’s raid, the Palmerah Police managed to arrest five drug suspects.

“We are assisted by K-9 troops from Polda Metro Jaya and also sniffer dogs, we can secure five people,” he said.

“We also secured several pieces of evidence, including scales, bongs, tramadol pills, a knife and a firearm (assembly),” he added. Bembo
