Jakarta – The Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) Bareskrim Polri searched the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Indramayu, West Java today, Friday, (4/8). The search was carried out to investigate the alleged blasphemy case by the Leader of the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang.
“Today’s progress carried out by investigators is carrying out a search in Indramayu,” said the Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Pol Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro told reporters at Bareskrim Polri, South Jakarta, Friday, (4/8).
He said the search was also to complete the case files and look for other evidence in the case. Because of that, his party checked the crime scene (TKP) in the existing video.
“We know that together with the various videos we saw the TKP was there, that’s why we conducted a search, checked the TKP. And this was carried out by Bareskrim investigators, then Inafis, and backed up by the West Java Regional Police and Indramayu Police,” he continued.
He also said that the search began at 14.00 WIB today. The search was led by the Head of Sub Directorate 1 Dittipidum Bareskrim Polri.
Even so, he did not explain in detail which places would be searched. He only said that the search was carried out in the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School area.
“In several locations at the Islamic boarding school, which is clearly in the Islamic boarding school (Al-Zaytun) area. Hopefully, with this search we will also get other evidence, for the benefit of the current investigation,” he added.
Previously, Bareskrim officially named Panji Gumilang as a suspect in the blasphemy case. The determination of the suspect was based on the results of the case title conducted by investigators on Tuesday (1/8) last night.
Meanwhile, Panji has been officially detained at the Bareskerim Polri Detention Center (Rutan) starting on Wednesday (2/8) at 02.00 WIB. Detention will be carried out for 20 days until August 21, 2023.
Panji Gumilang is charged with Article 14 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 1946 and/or Article 45a Paragraph 2 Juncto Article 28 Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law and/or Article 156a of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 10 years in prison. Bembo
