Jakarta – Polres Metro Jakarta Barat Propam stated that three members of the Tambora Police Narcotics Unit were proven to have violated the SOP, related to the arrest of Saiful Jamil’s assistant, Steven Arthur.
“Regarding members who carried out arrests and disclosed drug crime cases, namely on behalf of Aiptu H, Aiptu ZM, and Aiptu AW, as I have previously stated, the Polres Metro Jakarta Barat Propam will carry out investigations and in-depth investigations regarding alleged violations of the three these members,” said Kapolres Metro Jakarta Barat, Kombes Pol M Syahduddi in a press conference at his office, West Jakarta, Friday, (12/1).
Kapolres Syahduddi stated, that the three police officers had undergone a Propam examination. And all three were declared to have violated procedures.
“The results of the examination showed that it was proven that the three members committed procedural violations. The first allowed members of the public to commit acts of violence against drug abusers. The second did not provide confidence or certainty to the perpetrator that the person concerned was a police officer even though the member had said ‘we are the police’ and showing a police officer’s police badge. However, that was not enough to convince the suspect to obey the officer’s orders to stop, but instead ran away,” he explained.
Kapolres Syahduddi also confirmed that the three members would soon have an ethics trial.
“So that these three have been proven to have violated procedures, we will immediately try them to obtain legal certainty,” he said.
Furthermore, Kapolres Syahduddi also revealed the figure of a man wearing a jacket that said ‘POLICE’ who was involved in the arrest of Saipul Jamil’s assistant. From the results of the Polres Metro Jakarta Barat Propam investigation, the man turned out to be a member of the Polsek Kalideres.
“After we dispatched the Propam section of the Polres Metro Jakarta Barat to investigate this matter, we also found that the person concerned was a member of the Polsek Kalideres on behalf of Bripda ABP,” said Kapolres Syahduddi.
He explained, that at that time ABP had just been released from service and was about to return to his home in Jakarta Utara. When passing by the location, he saw a commotion so he helped provide security.
“When passing by the scene of the crime, the person concerned saw that there was commotion and chaos, so with his police instinct he stepped down and helped his colleagues to secure the people involved in the criminal drug abuse case,” concluded Kapolres Syahduddi. Bembo
