Bandung – The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) Polda Jawa Barat is making efforts to anticipate potential provocation due to exhaust pipes or noise during the open campaign. In the period from 1 December 2023 to 7 January 2024, the Ditlantas Polda Jabar has taken action against 11,425 vehicles that still use exhaust pipes which produce noise.
The Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the Polda Jabar, Kombes Pol Wibowo said, that apart from causing pollution, brong exhaust can also easily provoke people because of its loud sound.
“Problems can be triggered quickly due to provocation. So it can lead to war between motorbike gangs and village groups because of noisy exhausts,” said Kombes Pol Wibowo at the Ditlantas Polda Jabar Building, last Tuesday, (9/1).
Furthermore, Kombes Pol Wibowo also announced preventive measures ahead of the open campaign period from 21 January 2024 to 10 February 2024. He confirmed that his party would increase routine activities with a focus on cracking down on vehicles with high exhausts.
“Towards the implementation of the open campaign, from January 10 to January 20 2024, we will carry out enhanced routine activities, with the target of exhausting brong starting from preventive measures,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, legal supervision of brong exhaust will be carried out using a mobile or mobile hunting approach, without using conventional raids. Bembo
