Jakarta – The Polri noted that throughout 2023 there will be 414,356 vehicles subject to ETLE tickets. The total fine from the ETLE ticket reached Rp121.7 billion.
The implementation of ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) tickets throughout 2023 has proven successful in catching hundreds of thousands of traffic violators.
This was stated by the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, during his year-end release at the Polri Headquarters, Wednesday, (27/12) yesterday.
Kapolri Listyo Sigit said, that 414,356 vehicles were found violating traffic and were subject to ETLE tickets. This number has increased compared to 2022. In 2022, the total number of vehicles ticketed will be 305,326 units. The increase in ETLE tickets reached 35.7%.
With the increase in fines, the fines automatically also increase. According to Polri records, the increase in ETLE fines was Rp121.7 billion, an increase of Rp30.1 billion compared to 2022.
“The expansion of ETLE is of course directly proportional to the increase in ETLE tickets and the value of fines and the value of these fines is of course a source of income for the state,” explained Kapolri Listyo Sigit
“The Polri also continues to expand the current implementation of ETLE by 1,547 so that public awareness increases without the need for officers to monitor it,” he said again.
It is hoped that the installation of more and more widespread ETLEs will make road users more orderly. Not only that, it is hoped that the number of traffic accidents can be reduced because drivers comply with existing rules.
So far, there have been 1,547 ETLEs operating. The forms vary from static, mobile and portable.
2023 ETLE Ticket Details:
833 ETLE mobile handheld
493 ETLE static
150 ETLE speed cam
64 ETLE mobile on board
5 ETLE Weight in motion
2 ETLE Portable
Still according to Polri records, traffic accidents are observed to have decreased compared to the 2022 period. In 2023, traffic accidents were recorded at only 133,796 cases or a decrease of 4,055 cases compared to 2022.
Likewise, the number of deaths has decreased by 11% or 3,094 cases compared to 2022. The number of deaths in 2023 will reach 24,437 people.
“Hopefully with the distribution of ETLE the number of accidents in the future can continue to decrease,” concluded Kapolri Listyo Sigit. Bembo
