Jakarta – The Kompas R&D survey shows that public satisfaction with the performance of the Polri reached 87.8%. From the survey, nine out of ten respondents agreed to express satisfaction with the services provided by the Polri to the community.
“On average, no less than 87.8% of the public expressed satisfaction with the performance demonstrated by the Polri. The Polri’s performance in serving the public received the highest appreciation,” wrote the Kompas Research and Development survey, quoted on Tuesday, (26/12).
The survey also explained that the Polri’s duties in maintaining security and order (kamtibmas) were considered very positive by the public. More than 89% of respondents agreed that they were satisfied with the Polri’s efforts to maintain security and social order.
Regarding law enforcement carried out by the Polri, four out of five respondents rated them as very satisfied.
Meanwhile, public complaint services received a satisfaction rate of 68.7%. The public stated that complaints could be made by going directly to the police station. However, 16.8% of respondents chose to make complaints via social media.
“In the multiple response model, apart from coming directly to the police station, around a fifth of respondents can answer complaints through the Polri call center service,” said the explanation of the survey results.
From the results of the Kompas R&D survey, overall it shows that the Polri’s performance evaluation received high appreciation from the public. This shows that the commitment of the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to provide professional personnel has been realized.
“What is reflected in the performance shown by the Polri should also be a form of confirmation that improvement efforts, including internal supervision of the institution, have gone well,” explained the survey.
Furthermore, the survey results also explain that supervision carried out in order to prevent and follow up on violations by police officers has been proven to be carried out consistently. One of them can be reflected in the public complaints services provided.
The member violation complaint service still needs to be improved. Responses to complaints and ease of access to complaint services received the highest attention, respectively from around two-fifths of community respondents. Apart from that, there is another third of the public who hopes that there will be improvements in terms of the transparency of the complaints process.
“In this case, apart from easy access at the beginning of the complaint process, the public also seems to expect that the complaint process can continue to be well informed and open. However, in general public appreciation is relatively high, reaching no less than 85 percent of respondents who expressed satisfaction with the complaint service violations by members of the Polri,” he said.
This community survey was conducted face-to-face on 22 October-15 November 2023. The survey was conducted on 100 respondents for each Polda area with a total of 3,400 respondents from the general public showing very positive achievements for the performance of the Polri. Bembo
