Jakarta – Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara, Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan and his staff checked the security of churches in the Jakarta Utara area. Kapolres Gidion wants to be assured that the congregation’s safety is completely guaranteed during Christmas worship.
“We carried out checks at several churches in the Jakarta Utara area to ensure church safety during Christmas and New Year. We want worship activities to run safely and smoothly,” said Kapolres Gidion to reporters, Saturday, (23/12).
Kapolres Gidion and his staff yesterday visited and checked 5 churches. The 5 churches visited were, GKI Melur (Koja), St. Francis Xaverius (Koja), Toraja Church (Kelapa Gading), St. James (Kelapa Gading), and St. Yohanes Bosco (Tanjung Priok).
“We have checked 5 churches, in Koja, Kelapa Gading and Tanjung Priok. For CCTV, parking is available and security officers are on standby,” he said.
He also said, further that his party had prepared personnel to secure Christmas activities at churches in Jakarta Utara. Security will be carried out openly and privately.
“Later, our members from the Polsek will also help us,” he said again.
Not to forget, he also appealed to church administrators to immediately contact the police if they found any disturbances in social security and order.
