Jakarta – Polda Metro Jaya ensures that 1,807 churches celebrating Christmas 2023 in DKI Jakarta and surrounding jurisdictions will receive maximum security.
The 1,807 churches will be guarded and guarded by 4,041 joint personnel on standby during Operation Lilin Jaya 2023.
“The number of churches in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya that we have secured is 1,807 churches,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko to reporters, Sunday, (24/12).
The 1,807 churches consist of 138 churches in Central Jakarta, 287 churches in North Jakarta, 204 churches in West Jakarta, 126 churches in South Jakarta, and 171 churches in East Jakarta.
Then 213 churches in Tangerang City, 277 churches in Bekasi City, 144 churches in Bekasi Regency, 165 churches in Depok, 81 churches in South Tangerang, and 1 church in the Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) Airport area.
Previously, the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, had also said that all joint personnel who were alerted for security were selected personnel who were trained and competent. So people don’t need to worry about carrying out religious services and other activities on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
“We, together with the TNI and other stakeholders, have held a coordination meeting regarding possible threats and how to deal with them in the field. So the public doesn’t need to worry. We will provide maximum security for the community,” explained Kapolda Karyoto after the coordination meeting at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters, Last Monday, (18/12).
“By means of communication, coordination and collaboration and the formation of service and security elements, this is an extraordinary asset. We guarantee that government officials, TNI, Polri and the community remain solid,” he continued to emphasize.
He also said, further that his party would really focus on securing several tourist attractions and places of worship. Even for places of worship, sterilization will be carried out before use
“This place of worship is a place where many people gather. Tomorrow the Kasatker (Head of Work Unit) of the Kapolres who will go to the field directly as the object security commander must be able to map out what kind of vulnerability it is.
