This trained dog will really help the police in sniffing out traces of suspects and even evidence that the police are looking for. So, the question now is, why is the bloodhound called K-9? Check out the explanation below.
K-9 actually does not come from any number abbreviation. It’s just a term in the world of fauna. The word K-9 comes from the word Canine.
Referring to the Wikipedia site, Canine or Caninae is not originally just about dogs. He could also refer to wolves as well as coyotes or coyotes.
Even so, canines are often identified as a genius type of dog. From there, the term canine or K-9 became the name for the police’s bloodhound.
Almost all police forces in the world have this sniffer dog unit.
However, not all dogs can be used as K-9 sniffer dogs. For K-9 sniffer dogs, the police usually use Belgian Malinois or German Shepherds. This dog is commonly referred to as the German Shepherd (AGJ).
There are several reasons, of course, why AGJ dogs are preferred as police partners for K-9s. Worth knowing. These two dogs are considered to have special skills naturally. They are able to track things like sniffing out illegal drugs, sniffing out criminals and others.
Judging from the size of the breed, these two types of dogs do have intelligence beyond average. They are also easier to train for complex problems. Apart from that, they also have a tendency to be suspicious of other people who are not in their circle.
This advantage is an asset for the police to help catch every criminal. These two types of dogs can also control their prey well. As the name suggests, instinctively they are tasked with herding in nature. And they are also highly motivated by work. Bembo
