Jakarta – The inactive chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, is predicted to die soon. Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, who had so far chosen to remain calm and silent when facing Firli, seemed to be starting to get angry. Kapolda Karyoto’s patience has almost reached its end. And now it’s time for him to show his fangs against the tengil Firli.
Most recently, Firli’s tengil style in ignoring the summons for a follow-up examination last Thursday, (21/12), has resulted in the decision by the Kapolda Karyoto to arrest and forcibly pick Firli up if necessary.
And now, Polda Metro Jaya is also preparing to conduct research into Firli’s alleged violation of Article 54 of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Openness (KIP) in conjunction with Article 322 of the Criminal Code.
This alleged violation is related to the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) corruption case documents which Firli brought and discussed with his attorney, Ian Iskandar at the pre-trial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). Firli and Ian were considered offside because they were determined to broadcast confidential documents to the public.
To be known as synchronization. Article 322 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code states that anyone who deliberately discloses a secret that he or she is obliged to keep because of his or her position or occupation, whether current or previous, is threatened with imprisonment for a maximum of nine months or a fine of a maximum of Rp600.
Then Article 54 of the Public Information Openness Law (KIP) also states that anyone who accesses, obtains and/or provides information that is excluded will be subject to a maximum prison sentence of 2 years and a maximum fine of Rp10 million.
The alleged offside of Firli and Ian has legally been reported by Lemtaki Chairman Edy Susilo to Polda Metro Jaya. This report is registered with number LP/B/7588/XII/2023/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated 18 December 2023.
In the report, it was stated that Firli, as the head of the Corruption Eradication Commission, was carrying secret documents on ongoing corruption cases at the Corruption Eradication Commission.
“We’ll see, we’ll examine (the report),” said Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto when asked for his response to the report in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, last Thursday, (21/12).
He also explained that investigators would later collect material and information related to the report in question. This, continued Kapolda Karyoto, also included the process of clarification and completion of evidence from the reporting party.
“What was leaked, what kind of documents, that’s it. What kind of documents will the reporter bring later? Are they the same as those in court. We’ll examine them first,” Kapolda Karyoto said.
As is known, Firli Bahuri’s lawyer, Ian Iskandar, brought evidence of documents regarding the handling of alleged corruption cases within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation which were confidential or internal in nature at the pre-trial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN).
The Polda Metro Jaya Legal Advocacy Team (Bidkum PMJ) then took issue with the documentary evidence. The reason was that the evidence was fals or not in line with Firli’s application which was being tested at the pre-trial at that time. Bembo
