Jakarta – The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has scheduled the inactive KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to be questioned again today, Thursday, (21/12) as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
“Today is the inspection schedule,” said Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak to journalists, Thursday, (21/12).
It was explained that Firli Bahuri would again be questioned in his capacity as a suspect. The examination will be carried out at 10.00 WIB in the Investigation Room of the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipidkor) Bareskrim Polri.
Previously, South Jakarta District Court Single Judge Imelda Herawati rejected all of Firli Bahuri’s pretrial lawsuit requests regarding the determination of the suspect by Polda Metro Jaya.
“Trying the exception, granting the respondent’s exception in the main case, declaring that the applicant’s pretrial application cannot be accepted,” said Judge Imelda at the decision hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel), Tuesday, (19/12).
Judge Imelda said that the determination of Firli Bahuri as a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya was in accordance with procedures and valid according to applicable law so that Firli’s suspect status remained valid and could not be revoked.
Firli Bahuri then gave his response regarding the South Jakarta District Court’s decision regarding the pretrial regarding the determination of the suspect by Polda Metro Jaya.
“I was shocked to hear the news today that Firli’s application was rejected. I was shocked, the court’s decision didn’t sound like that,” said Firli when met at a cafe in Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Tuesday, (19/12) evening.
According to him, the South Jakarta District Court judge’s decision stated that, firstly, the applicant’s application was not accepted, not rejected, but also not granted.
“Usually there are two decisions, namely rejected or granted, this is something in the middle which is unacceptable,” said Firli.
Firli said that his party would continue to follow the legal process in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
He also hopes that Indonesian people, especially the nation’s children, will not fall into judgmental opinions about people. Bembo
