Jakarta – Indonesia is ranked first in the Global Muslim Travel Index in 2023. This data can be a commitment to developing the halal industry in Indonesia as a process of forming the foundation of a sustainable economy.
One form of implementing this commitment, one of which is realized at the 2023 Halal Fair Exhibition event at ICE BSD City Tangerang from 8-10 December 2023. This event is also a momentum for the appearance of quality local MSME products that can provide the right solutions and choices for consumers.
Carrying the theme “The Most Inspiring Halal Event”, this event provides end-of-year halah tourism inspiration by presenting 250 exhibitors from within and outside the country. One of them is the Red Chef, Henny Maria Angelica.
Henny Maria, known as the ‘Red Chef’, is one of the Horison Hotel School Ambassadors with special expertise in western food. Due to his ability and entrepreneurial spirit in the culinary field, he is currently building a business called “Steak Twogether” which already has several branches in South Jakarta.
Not only that. Her success in obtaining a certificate for an international cooking competition, namely Halal Super Chef International Fine Dining in Singapore in July 2023, made her the only female participant representative from Indonesia in this competition. And that makes him more motivated to educate the public about halal cooking.
At the Halal Fair- HIITS 2023 event, Henny channeled his knowledge in the field of halal food as a talk show speaker with the theme “Critical Points of Halalness in International Brands”. As a chef, especially in the field of western food, Henny educates himself as a Muslim and chooses the food he consumes according to the rules of Islamic law.
“As a Muslim and Muslim woman, we must be selective in checking halal food, especially if we use international brands. We have to fight hard so as not to change the image of the taste and uniqueness of the food we make, but it remains halal and fun to enjoy.” explained Henny.
On this occasion, Henny Maria also did a cooking demonstration with Chef Rinto who was one of the finalists for the 10th season of Master Chef Indonesia. This joint cooking event was warmly welcomed by Halal Fair visitors who were very excited to know and taste the culinary preparations of these two young Indonesian chefs. Bembo
