Jakarta – Jenderal TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, who currently serves as Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), handed over the position of Commander of Kostrad (Pangkostrad) to Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa. The handover of positions was carried out in the A.H. Great General Hall. Nasution, Army Headquarters (Mabesad), Central Jakarta, Thursday, (7/12).
The appointment of the new Kostrad Commander is stated in TNI Commander Decree No. Kep/1384/XI/2023 which was signed by Jenderal TNI Agus Subiyanto on Wednesday, November 29 2023.
Mayjen TNI Saleh Mustafa is a high-ranking TNI AD officer who was born in Ternate, North Maluku on March 14 1969. He graduated from the Military Academy (Akmil) 1991 from the Infantry branch.
Before being appointed Commander of Kostrad, Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa served as Chief of Staff of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kaskostrad) since 15 August 2023.
On April 13 2016, Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa was appointed Commander of Korem 132/Tadulako with the rank of Brigjen. Then on October 27 2017 he became Wadanpussenif Kodiklatad, and on October 30 2019 he served as Kasdam Jaya.
On August 2 2021, Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa was appointed Kaskogabwilhan II and also received a promotion to Mayor Jenderal.
Don’t stop there. On July 29 2022 Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa was appointed Commander of the XVII Cenderawasih Regional Military Command (Pangdam). Then on April 27 2023 he was appointed as Level III Expert Staff Officer to the Kasad for Sosbudkum, Human Rights and Narcotics and on August 15 2023 he served as Kaskostrad.
Furthermore, on November 29 2023, Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa was promoted as Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad) replacing Jenderal TNI Maruli Simanjuntak who currently serves as Army Chief of Staff (KSAD).
Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa expressed his gratitude and pride because he had been given the mandate to become Kostrad Commander.
After the handover was completed, a welcome activity was held for Kostrad Commanders and former Kostrad Commanders at Kostrad Headquarters, Gambir, Central Jakarta.
Mayjen TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa expressed his sincere thanks to Jenderal TNI Maruli Simanjuntak and Mrs. Uli Simanjuntak for leading, developing and developing Kostrad and Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana.
“In connection with the mandate given by the TNI leadership and Army Chief of Staff to me as the new Kostrad Commander, I hope that through this good opportunity, I hope for support from all elements of Kostrad to carry out this mandate,” said the Kostrad Commander as stated in a Kostrad press release.
