“Regarding engineering, we already have a concept. We have experience, especially regarding homecoming routes and return routes in managing homecoming during Eid al-Fitr, so of course we will apply this experience during the Christmas holidays, especially in terms of management and engineering of transportation routes,” explained Kapolri Listyo Sigit to journalists, Thursday, (7/12).
It is said that the police already have experience in anticipating the flow of Eid homecoming. Therefore, this experience will be applied again, starting from engineering with contraflow, flow diversion, to one way when there is congestion to traffic jams at certain points.
“We already have a kind of counting when the number of vehicles on the toll road exceeds a certain capacity. Because of that, we will implement engineering. We will continue to evaluate this so that when we carry out the engineering, on the other hand, the public who use the road will not be disturbed. ” explained the Kapolri.
“So that there is no excessive build-up and if you have to wait, of course a rest area is prepared which will also make people comfortable while waiting,” he continued.
He also added that in his party’s calculations, there was also the implementation of the election stages coincided with the Christmas holiday. Therefore, his party will also provide security during these political events.
“Implementation of the election stages so that we ask each regional head to carry out mapping in their area so that the election stages can continue to run well,” he said.
