Jakarta – Panglima TNI Jenderal TNI Agus Subiyanto accompanied by Mrs Evi Agus Subiyanto visited the 6th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jenderal TNI (Ret.) Try Sutrisno at his residence in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, (6/12).
The Panglima TNI visit was a form of visiting Try Sutrisno, who was the former 7th Panglima ABRI in the New Order era and once served as the 6th Vice President in the New Order era. This gathering is a form of respect because Try Sutrisno is a TNI elder who is highly respected by current TNI soldiers.
Jenderal TNI (Ret.) Try Sutrisno and Jenderal TNI Agus Subiyanto are two four-star generals who are generations apart but have both been leaders of TNI institutions. Jenderal TNI Try Sutrisno led ABRI as Panglima ABRI from 1988 to 1993. At that time ABRI still consisted of the TNI AD, TNI AL, TNI AU and Polri institutions. At the end of the year of Jenderal TNI Try Sutrisno’s leadership as Panglima ABRI, Jenderal TNI Agus Subiyanto had only been appointed 2 years as an Army Officer with the rank of Letnan Dua.
Ending the friendship, the Panglima TNI gave Try Sutrisno a souvenir and a book as a memento.
Also accompanying the visit were Asintel, Aspers, Aslog, Asrenum and the TNI Commander’s Askomlek. Bembo
