Jakarta – Kesit Budi Handoyo has been appointed as acting chairman of PWI Jaya. Secretary of PWI Jaya for the 2019-2024 period replaces Sayid Iskandarsyah, who has become Secretary General of Central PWI after the September 2023 PWI Congress in Bandung, West Java
“My main task as acting chairman is to prepare for the definitive chairman election,” said Kesit B Handoyo in a plenary meeting on Tuesday (5/12) at the PWI Jaya Secretariat, Prasada Sasana Karya Building, Jakarta.
The appointment of Kesit B Handoyo as Acting Chair of PWI Jaya was stipulated in the Central PWI Decree on 20 November 2023 which was signed by General Chair Hendry Ch Bangun, Secretary General Sayid Iskandarsyah, and Head of Organization Zulmansyah Sakedang.
According to the plan, the election of a new chairman will be held in mid-April 2024, before the end of the 2019-2024 management period.
Preparations for the 2024 PWI Jaya Provincial Conference (Konferprov) will be carried out by a newly formed committee next January.
This is the first PWI Jaya plenary meeting after the 2023 PWI Congress, where a number of 2019-2024 PWI Jaya administrators were elected to the Central PWI management. Apart from representatives of the sections, the meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Advisory Council, Adhi Wargono.
Kesit B Handoyo on that occasion also explained about the appointment of Berman Nainggolan as Acting Chair of the Provincial Honorary Council (DKP) and Fitriyanto as Chair of Siwo Jaya.
Berman was accompanied by Irdawati, while Fitriyanto was accompanied by Raden Wuryanto.
Kesit also touched on the issue of PWI membership, where members whose KTA (Membership Identification Card) has expired for more than one year will certainly be invalidated and cannot be extended further.
It was explained that according to PD/PRT, membership expires and cannot be extended. If you want to be active again, according to the provisions you have to start again with young members.
“Previously, you were still allowed to activate as long as you had taken the journalist competency test (UKW) and were declared competent, now you can no longer do so. Your membership will automatically expire,” Kesit added. Bembo
