Davao City – Head of Bakamla RI Laksdya TNI Dr. Irvansyah continued his visit to the Philippines by making a courtesy call to the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Davao City, Dr. Achmad Djatmiko, M.A. The meeting took place at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Davao City, Philippines, Thursday, (23/11).
On this occasion, Laksdya TNI Dr. Irvansyah said that in recent years, a good cooperative relationship has been created between Bakamla RI and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). This of course continues the successful performance of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of the Philippines.
Not only that. On the occasion of this visit, Laksdya TNI Dr. Irvanyah also said that in his series of visits, he also included one element of the RI Bakamla ship, namely KN. Gajah Laut – 404 to carry out a port visit at DPWH Wharf Harbor, Panacan, Davao City, Philippines. During this port visit, joint activities will be carried out between KN personnel. Hearing this, Dr. Achmad Djatmiko appreciated the maritime diplomacy that has been carried out by Bakamla RI, especially with the Philippines. Dr. Achmad Djatmiko also suggested strengthening forms of cooperation in the area of increasing personnel capacity between the two agencies, and also for Indonesian students who are studying in the Philippines.
“If possible, Bakamla RI can hold a motivational seminar program for students at special Indonesian schools in Davao City,” he said.
Furthermore, discussions regarding the latest issues of maritime security and safety were also discussed. Moreover, Indonesia and the Philippines have bordering waters. Because of this, Bakamla RI is trying to show its presence both by carrying out optimal patrols that are beneficial for both countries, and also by carrying out maritime diplomacy with related agencies in both countries.
On this occasion, the Head of Bakamla RI was also accompanied by his main officials, such as Deputy for Operations and Training Laksda Bakamla Andi Abdul, Head of Central Bakamla Zone Laksma Bakamla Octavianus Budi Susanto and Director of Cooperation Laksma Bakamla Eka Satari.
On the other hand, the Consul General was accompanied by Head of Chancellery Harya Kakerasana Sidharta, Economic Consul Novita S.D.
