Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto visited the Bareskrim Polri, Thursday, (16/11). Kapolda Karyoto entered through the front lobby then went up via the VIP elevator to the 6th floor of the Bareskrim Building. The arrival of Kapolda Karyoto coincided with KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri who was being investigated regarding the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
The case of alleged blackmail by Firli against SYL was actually handled by Polda Metro Jaya. However, Firli did not want to be questioned at Polda Metro and asked for his examination to be carried out at Bareskrim.
Kapolda Karyoto was seen going up to the 6th floor of Bareskrim with a number of his members at around 13.00 WIB. However, it is not yet known what the purpose of Kapolda Karyoto was in visiting Bareskrim Polri today.
Neither the Polri Headquarters nor Polda Metro Jaya have provided an explanation.
Separately, Firli’s attorney, Ian Iskandar, admitted that he did not know that the Kapolda Metro was also at Bareskrim this afternoon.
“Oh no (Kapolda in the examination room). We accompanied (Firli), he wasn’t there,” said Ian in the Bareskrim Lobby.
According to him, Firli was only questioned by Polda Metro Jaya investigators at Bareskrim.
“Yes (examined) by Polda Metro investigators,” he said.
As is known, Firli underwent examination at Bareskrim Polri as a witness today.
Firli is estimated to arrive at around 09.00 WIB and leave the Polri Headquarters at around 14.30 WIB.
After being questioned, Firli appeared to be hiding from the media crew in the car. She covered her face with her fingers and a black bag.
Polda Metro it self has raised the status of this case to the investigation stage, but no suspects have been announced yet.
In handling this case, Polda Metro Jaya investigated the meeting between KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and Syahrul Yasin Limpo at the badminton court.
Photos of the moment of the meeting are known to have circulated widely in cyberspace.
Investigators have examined dozens of witnesses. However, Polda Metro Jaya has not yet named any suspects. Bembo
