Jakarta – Head of Bakamla RI LaksdyaTNI Dr. Irvansyah held courtesy call with the Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut (KSAL) Laksamana TNI Muhammad Ali at Wisma Elang Laut (WEL), Central Jakarta, Wednesday, (15/11) yesterday.
The visit of the Head of Bakamla RI was in the context of a friendly discussion about strengthening maritime security which cannot be separated from the role of the Indonesian Navy. This friendly meeting also discussed important matters regarding the maritime security and safety situation.
On this occasion, the Head of Bakamla RI said that currently Bakamla is gradually being strengthened by the issuance of Government Regulation (PP) No. 13 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Security, Safety and Law Enforcement in Indonesian Maritime Areas and Jurisdictions by President Joko Widodo.
The PP, said the Head of Bakamla, will regulate national maritime security policies, joint patrols, integration of information systems and forums aimed at synergizing the implementation of security, safety and law enforcement at sea.
It is also stated in this PP that Bakamla does not take over anyone’s authority. Bakamla only acts as a coordinator for every ministry and institution that has a role in carrying out security, safety and law enforcement in Indonesian waters and jurisdiction.
Responding to this, the KSAL said that the Indonesian Navy would always be ready to synergize and support all policies issued by the government.
During the meeting, accompanying the Head of Bakamla RI were the Secretary of Bakamla RI Laksda TNI Tatit E. Witjaksono, Deputy Prosecutor of Bakamla RI Laksda Bakamla Dr. Gregorius Agung W.D, Head of the Infrastructure and Infrastructure Bureau Laksma Bakamla Rudi Parulian Simorangkir, Director of Policy for Kamla Laksma Bakamla Ferry Supriady, and Director of Data and Information Laksma Bakamla Frandinanto.
