Jakarta – Kapolri General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo gathered all Kapolda and Kapolres throughout Indonesia at the 2023 Regional Unit Heads (Kasatwil) event at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, (1/11).
And in front of all the Kapolda and Kapolres, Kapolri Listyo Sigit firmly ordered them to oversee and secure the entire process of implementing the 2024 elections.
Kapolri Listyo Sigit also ordered all regional police chiefs and police chiefs to ensure that all stages of the process up to the peak event of the democratic party in 2024 run safely and smoothly.
“All Kapolda, Kapolres in all regions, are to prepare Polri personnel both at the central and regional levels to be able to monitor and carry out the election stages,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit at a press conference.
He said again that this direction was necessary considering that the election stages had now been implemented. Apart from that, he continued, with the existence of the Kasatwil Apple, it is also hoped that all levels will be able to oversee national programs and agendas in their respective regions.
“Apart from the election stages, we also still have to implement programs that have become the national agenda. Oversee development programs that must be completed in 2023 and 2024,” he explained.
Furthermore, Kapolri Listyo Sigit also admitted that he had asked his staff to anticipate developments in the global situation which were considered to affect domestic security.
“The Polri must of course be ready, both in facing the existing election stages, and facing global challenges which have implications for increasing certain crimes,” he stressed.
Therefore, continued the Kapolri, he really hopes that in this election the community can avoid polarization which has the potential to cause conflict like before.
“I think it’s hot on TV, let it be on social media. But in the grassroot field it has to be cool. We have to maintain unity and unity,” he said again.
