Jakarta – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has confirmed that it will provide assistance to Polda Metro in the case of alleged extortion of KPK leaders at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).
Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Irjen Pol Sandi Nugroho, said that his party had actively provided assistance from the investigation to the investigation so that this case could be resolved thoroughly and professionally.
“As stated by Mr Kapolri, we will carry out it carefully, carefully, professionally, so that the information that can be obtained from the results of this examination is actually in accordance with the incident,” said Irjen Pol Sandi in his statement, quoted on Sunday, ( 10/15).
Irjen Pol Sandi also responded to the proposal from Kompolnas to take over this case to Bareskrim. He said that according to the direction of the Kapolri, General Pol Listyo Sigit, to monitor this case jointly, both internally and externally.
“[Supervision] is both internal and external, to ensure that this case runs well, openly and we can open it. If it is true, we will process it,” he added.
As previously reported, member of the Kompolnas, Yusuf Warsyim, said that the main supervision or supervision of this case needed to be carried out or even taken over by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters.
He considered that taking over this case would be equivalent if it were taken over by Bareskrim. This means that the Corruption Eradication Committee and the National Police are equal and no one is superior.
“This is the Corruption Eradication Commission and the National Police, equal and equivalent, neither of them is superior. So institutionally, to maintain equality and equity, it should be handled by Bareskrim alone,” said Yusuf recently.
For information, the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya is currently investigating allegations of extortion carried out by the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
