Jakarta – The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya asked for a preliminary study regarding the DKI Jakarta DPRD’s proposal to apply a 24-hour odd-even traffic engineering (gage) to reduce Jakarta’s air pollution. The reason is, there will be many things that can arise later when the proposal becomes a policy.
“It must be discussed because every policy cannot be implemented directly with direct discourse, there needs to be an assessment, there needs to be a discussion, we will try it out, like that,” said the Wadirlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Doni Hermawan when met by journalists during Prayers Friday at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday, (25/8).
He said the study must be carried out to ensure that the policy has a positive impact on society.
“Of course we have to do it in a good way of discussion, review, so that the results are also beneficial to society,” he said.
Previously, the head of Commission D DPRD DKI Jakarta, Ida Mahmudah, made this suggestion. Ida conveyed the proposal to overcome the problem of air pollution in Jakarta.
This proposal also highlights the Work From Home (WFH) policy of 50 percent of ASN DKI Jakarta which according to him needs to be evaluated.
“My hope is that the Regional Government will immediately evaluate what has been carried out in the past few days. My input is that if the evaluation is indeed very small, reducing pollution will be carried out immediately, odd-even, this is valid for 24 hours,” said Ida at the DKI DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Thursday, (24/ 8) yesterday.
“This is valid for 24 hours so that it can really be reduced because we both hear that the most air pollution is contributed by motorized vehicles,” he continued again. Bembo
