Jakarta – The Cyber Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya is investigating the alleged Tinder Swindler Indonesia fraud case. Currently, there are two victims who have reported cases with a romantic mode similar to the documentary film entitled The Tinder Swindler.
“We are still investigating. It is possible that there are other victims,” said the Director of Special Criminal Investigation for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Tuesday, (22/8) yesterday.
He explained, this case started with the victim and perpetrator who became acquainted via a dating application and then communicated more intensely in 2023.
“Until finally a close effective relationship was established between the victim and the suspect,” he said.
The perpetrator then takes advantage of this closeness to deceive the victim. The perpetrator seduced the victim to give him a sum of money which allegedly reached hundreds of millions.
“We are still investigating and exploring. If later a criminal incident is found, hold a case to raise the status of the investigation (investigation) to the fingerprint (investigation) as well as the determination of the suspect.
