Jakarta – The Director of Special Criminal Investigation for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, ensures that the investigation into the Rocky Gerung versus Yasonna Laoly case is continuing. One of them is the alleged insult to the Laoly clan, which was first reported in 2020.
“So it is true that in 2020 the community of Laoly residents had reported it to SPKT Polda Metro Jaya,” he told the media crew, Tuesday, (14/8).
In handling this case, Kombes Pol Ade Safri continued, his party had examined 7 witnesses, two of whom were expert language and criminal witnesses.
“The investigative team continues to work hard to carry out a series of investigative efforts to find alleged criminal events that occurred,” he said.
Even though this case is already 3 years old, Kombes Pol Ade Safri continued, investigators still don’t feel the need to summon Rocky Gerung. The reason is because investigators still need to clarify first with the reporting party.
“So the reported party in the 2020 report at that time said the reporter was in the investigation. So we will still be clarifying the reporting witnesses. Including the clarification of the experts that we will involve in the investigation that we will carry out,” he explained.
As is known, Menkumham Yasonna Laoly, again brought up the Rocky case with the Laoly surname. He also claims that he was personally criticized by Rocky Gerung in 2020. It’s just that the criticism conveyed is unethical and has offended his dignity as an individual.
“I myself, I convey this in public, I myself was accused of being concerned in his Twitter in 2020. He said I have a dog named Laoly,” he said in the socialization of the New Criminal Code Law at Trans Resort Bali, Badung Regency, Bali, Wednesday, (9 /8) then.
“Because for me as an attack on the dignity of an individual it is equated with a dog, god, seriously. It’s something that really insults the dignity. I don’t accept it, I will pursue it so that it is heard,” he continued in an angry tone.
On a different occasion, Rocky Gerung clarified Yasonna’s story, claiming that he had been attacked by Rocky about a dog.
“When did [I criticize Yasonna]? Yasonna spread the hoax,” said Rocky, Monday, (14/8) yesterday.
According to him, in the narration that was made, Yasonna admitted that he was criticized by Rocky via Twitter. At this point, Rocky asked back, did Yasonna really know if it was Rocky’s account or not.
“Who’s Twitter? Know my account? Tell Yasonna to prove his claim,” he said annoyed.
Apart from his feud with Yasonna, now Rocky is also in trouble because he called President Jokowi a ‘stupid bastard’.
Rocky said ‘stupid bastard’ in a speech when invited by labor organizations in Bekasi City on July 29, 2023. The event was held by the Action Alliance of a Million Workers which will take place on August 10, 2023.
As a result of his words, Rocky Gerung was reported by Jokowi’s volunteers and a group of members of the public to the police for allegedly spreading fake news and defamation.
