Jakarta – A drug courier with the initials RB (38), with evidence of 36 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, was arrested by Unit II Sub-Directorate III of the Directorate of Drug Research, Polda Metro Jaya. The suspect RB was arrested when he was about to distribute methamphetamine in Serua Village, Bojongsari District, Depok City.
Kapolda Metro Jaya, Inspector General Pol Karyoto in a press conference at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday, (17/7) said that the suspect RB was arrested on Saturday, July 1. He was arrested when he was about to transact with someone at Ruko Akbar Motor Jalan Raya Cinangka.
At that time, the suspect RB was known to be driving a black Honda Jazz and carrying dozens of packs of black Bluebeard brand coffee which contained methamphetamine-type narcotics.
During the monitoring at that time, continued Kapolda Karyoto, the suspect first placed five packs of methamphetamine 50 meters before the point of arrest. When they were arrested, they obtained evidence of 32 packs of methamphetamine in packs of Bluebeard brand coffee weighing 34 kilograms and two packs of methamphetamine in packets of light green Guan Qyiang brand tea weighing two kilograms.
In addition to crystal methamphetamine, at that time a black Honda Jazz driven by RB and its vehicle registration were also confiscated as additional evidence.
“The suspect’s modus operandi was disguised in coffee packets imported from America,” said Kapolda.
He said again, the police had been monitoring the suspect RB since the end of June 2023. The information obtained was that the private employee also had transactions in the Pamulang area, South Tangerang.

After RB’s arrest, Kapolda Karyoto continued, his staff would continue to develop to detect his network.
The reason is that the distribution carried out by the suspect RB seems to have cut off the identity of the dealer network. The name of the sender and recipient is also unknown.
“The supply of 36 kilograms is quite large. We are sure that the suspects who are in control of this must have even bigger items. We are still tracing them,” Kapolda Karyoto emphasized.
To account for his actions, the suspect RB is charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
